Taking a little social media break for a few days…3 out of 4 of my kiddos are a little sick and I just want to be fully present with them.🙏❤️ This is the first time my twinnies are sick and it’s been all consuming. They both want to nurse & be held 24/7 and I WANT to hold them & nurse them (maybe not 24/7🤪 but as much as possible)!! ….the past 24 hours have been HARD & it’s nearly impossible to do anything other than take care of all these babies.🙏❤️ I figure it’s a good time to take a break off electronics and just be FULLY present with them.🥰 I take little social media breaks every once in a while to try to unplug … it really is so good for the soul to get off electronics and spend more time disconnecting.🌱 I’m gonna spend the next couple days nursing my babies back to health and being super intentional with my older kiddos too!☺️ I’m so thankful to YOU for being here with me on my little corner of IG.💕 I’ve done this many times before and I know when I come back you’ll be right here to welcome me. These twinnies are strong baby boys, RSV doesn’t stand a chance with them!❤️🩹🤒🙏 …Hawkins spiked a fever of 101.7. He’s had a cough and would even wheeze some, but he’s been eating normally. There’s not a lot the doctor can do for a cold/virus so we held off going, but the moment he spiked a fever we brought them both in… Sure enough they both tested positive for RSV.😩 If these were my first babies I would’ve rushed to the doc the minute I heard them cough. And honestly, there’s nothing wrong with that bc it’s better to be safe than sorry!💯 But I know there’s not a lot the doctor can do for a cold or even a lot of viruses. As long as they’re without a fever, eating and having normal wet diapers I figured I’d just keep a close eye on them. I know this is exactly what the doctor has even told me in the past, but yet I second guessed myself when they both tested positive for RSV. I panicked & asked the doctor if I should’ve brought them in earlier since they’ve had the cough a couple days, but thank God she reassured me. She actually said I brought them in at the perfect time …so that makes me feel more confident again.🙏🤪❤️ She sent us home with a nebulizer for the babies just in case they need it. Gosh, even though these are babies number 3 and 4 for us I STILL get nervous and doubt myself as a mommy.🤦🏼♀️ When do we as moms start feeling 100% confident?🤪 Does that ever come?!🤷🏼♀️ Asking for a friend🥴😅 RSV | twin mom | raw motherhood | mom life | 3 month old babies | moms supporting moms
I know he “should” be doing these things bc he’s their dad, but the men I grew up around would never🙅♀️ and it just makes me so thankful for my husband!🙏❤️ RSV has been going around like crazy! The babies are getting better and better each day though. I think Huxley has it worse than Hawkins now.😩 Thank God for at-home nebulizer treatments. I think that’s the one thing that is keeping us out of the hospital!🙏 Anytime the twins have a coughing spell or can’t kick the wheezes we give them a treatment. They scream and cry at first, but as it kicks in and they can breathe better they relax and fall asleep.🥺🙏 It’s awful to see your babies so sick, but I’m so dang thankful to have my hubby for support. I know “they’re his kids too” and it should be expected, but I just want to thank him bc he has been so helpful & I appreciate it so much.🙏❤️ Do you have hands-on dads in your life? I feel like times are changing and men are more involved now!🙌 It’s so nice bc it definitely wasn’t like that when I was growing up so I didn’t know how my husband would be as a dad when we had our first baby. But let me tell ya – watching him as a dad makes me fall more in love with him than anything else! I haven’t brushed my teeth or my hair🤪 I smell like garbage 🥴 (luckily my sweet hubby doesn’t say anything🙏😅) BUT my babies are bathed, fed and loved so that’s all that matters, right??😜😆❤️ Can’t wait for this mammogram (never thought I’d ever say that in all of my life 😂) … I just want answers desperately bc I’m so over the nip pain and full b00b burning. And my milk supply is so low in that breast.😭 I know the babies likely have ties but that wouldn’t be the cause bc I primarily pump. I’ve just been trying to latch them on so my body produces the antibodies they need to get rid of this RSV bc it’s just lingering on. Prob doesn’t help they both have it so they just keep passing germs back and forth bc they’re twins… We try to keep pacifiers, bottles, etc. separate but they’re basically interchangeable bc it’s so hard with twins. Thankfully, I know my body produces breastmilk that has specific antibodies to help them fight it. (So amazing, right?!)👏 On a super positive note, they’re gaining weight & happy as can be even through the sickness. Me on the other hand?! I’m just barely surviving🤪😆 I’ve had to change plans a zillion times and I’m missing a super important wedding for a very special friend which absolutely breaks my heart😢 I’m so thankful bc I know my friend fully understands.❤️ This is mom life in a nutshell, right?? We’ll have 2 more things👶👶 joining us JUST IN TIME TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS – my FAV time of the year🎃🦃🎅✨ DREAMS DO COME TRUE!🙏😭 Even though we had two beautiful, AMAZING children, I never believed our family was complete. It was just a gut feeling I had🤷🏼♀️ We were trying to get pregnant, but it wasn’t happening. I Saw a fertility doc—they said I had a blocked tube among many other things. I was diagnosed w secondary infertility. My heart ACHED💔 Even though we were told we couldn’t get pregnant & we kept getting negatives on the pregnancy tests, I wouldn’t give up. I had this strange feeling that we were meant to have more children. And I felt like I couldn’t give up on them. Our family just didn’t feel complete. I’d pray to God & ask for His will to be done & let me know if I am only meant to have 2?! I mean, we lost several pregnancies & we feel BEYOND BLESSED we got our sweet Gracie and Rexy! They fill our house with so much love & joy!💯🙏 I had a good friend come over the month before I got pregnant and she told me God had a word for me regarding pregnancy: “give God all the glory” ..what the heck did that even mean?!🤷🏼♀️ No joke, the very next month I got pregnant.🤰 and before I even knew I was pregnant I asked God to split the egg bc I’ve *always* wanted identical twins🥰 WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?!🤯 I barely believed it’d actually happen! I mean, it’d been over 3 years of trying to conceive with NOTHING. The fertility doc said I’d need IVF. Like, HOW?! I’ve stressed over losing one or both babies this whole pregnancy.. But here we are now! Nearly 9 mo later, a smooth pregnancy, and these identical twin boys can come ANY DAY🙏❤️👏 I share this (& will keep sharing) bc when I just wanted to give up it was reading stories like this that gave me HOPE❤️ I hope by me sharing my truth it gives someone out there HOPE🙏 I’m not overly religious, but I’ll tell ya what, I’m trusting in God a lot more these days💯🤣 They say you only need faith the size of a mustard seed and that’s about all I had🤪 But look where we are now!🙏❤️ THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST HOLIDAY SEASON with all FOUR of my things!🤰👶👶👧👦 #glorytoGod

This last week with RSV has been no joke!😩 I watch my twins cough and cry trying to breathe, but then by the end of the nebulizer treatment they fall asleep peacefully in my arms.🙏 Without a doubt that nebulizer has kept us out of the hospital.🙏❤️ I feel blessed that we have had an “easy” bout of RSV … my heart goes out to the mamas who have kiddos struggling in the hospital bc there is nothing worse than watching your child have difficulty breathing.😢 I ended up spending A LOT more time with the twins this last week than my older two bc the babies needed their mama … so today I took my bigs for a little mommy and me date.💕 I picked them up from school. We went to the library to get some books and then goodwill bc I had stuff to donate 🤪 … and of course they wanted to buy all of goodwill which would completely defeat the purpose of me de-cluttering 😆😅 I caved & they got to get a game to share – it’s probably missing half its pieces but it was only $2.99 so it’s fine. I’ll just re-donate it if that’s the case!🤪🤣 ..or do I just toss it?! Would anyone want a game with missing pieces?!?🤔 Im back home pumping as I write this. The bigs & the babies are playing in their little play mat area and I’m thanking God for HEALTH.🙏❤️ I’m trying SO HARD to make sure each of my children get all the love and attention they deserve. It’s a bit harder than I anticipated, especially when someone is sick. But I’m figuring it out.💕💕💕 Mom of four, RSV, twin mom, 3 month old babies, identical twin babies, mom life is the best life 🙏❤️
I always dreamed of having my kids 1-2 years apart.🙏 I thought if they were born too far apart they wouldn’t be interested in each other. I want my kiddos to be best friends.🙏❤️ I didn’t think that kind of relationship would happen with such large age gaps, but boy was I wrong. Look how precious big sissy is with her little brothers.🙏🥹❤️ Pregnancy and infertility didn’t allow me to have what I dreamed of, but God gave me my babies at the perfect time & I seriously pinch myself—to think that I have the family I once dreamed of.🥹 …Maybe it’s not exactly as I planned but I couldn’t be more thankful. 🙏❤️🙏 In the thick of pregnancy loss and secondary infertility I had a hard time keeping the faith, but when I’d see other stories of women struggling and then finally able to get pregnant and the baby stick, it gave me hope. If you’re in the thick of trying to conceive I hope our little family full of rainbow babies will give you hope too if you need it!🙏 🌈 And if it’s taking longer than you wanted to grow your family & you’re stressed about large age gaps – don’t worry! I think the twins are through the worst of RSV🙏 And we made it through with no hospital time!🙏👏🙌 Did you know if you breastfeed a sick baby it’s scientifically proven that the baby’s saliva will send signals to the motherS body to produce antibodies to ward off whatever virus/infection they’re fighting.👏 So amazing, right?! I’ve been trying to nurse the twins as much as possible bc it is amazing how much a mama can help her babies with her breast milk!🙏❤️ This is a big reason why I’ve stuck out breastfeeding even through mastitis.💯 And honestly, I don’t know if it’s my breast milk that’s help them stay out of the hospital with this RSV, but it definitely feels good to know every time they latch on they’re getting specific antibodies to help fight off their sickness!🙏🙏🙏 On the other hand, I definitely need to get their lip ties fixed.😩 it is so painful to nurse them on my left side.🤦🏼♀️ Lip ties are also linked to mastitis. (But I usually don’t nurse them – I just pump. So my mastitis is def not from their lip ties …but bc they’re super sick I began nursing a lot to get those antibodies for them and OUCH!) 3 months in with these precious baby boys and we’re still just figuring it all out.🤪 We are going to make an appointment to have their mouths looked at again bc my lactation consultant showed me exactly where the ties are … I’m hoping to get them taken care of next week so I can nurse these baby boys pain free!🤪🙌 Neither of my first two had ties so this is all new to me…babies number 3 & 4 and still discovering new things!🤪😆 Have you ever had a baby with a lip or tongue tie?!
