Jamie Otis Instagram – I think the twins are through the worst of RSV🙏 And we made it through with no hospital time!🙏👏🙌 Did you know if you breastfeed a sick baby it’s scientifically proven that the baby’s saliva will send signals to the motherS body to produce antibodies to ward off whatever virus/infection they’re fighting.👏 So amazing, right?!
I’ve been trying to nurse the twins as much as possible bc it is amazing how much a mama can help her babies with her breast milk!🙏❤️
This is a big reason why I’ve stuck out breastfeeding even through mastitis.💯
And honestly, I don’t know if it’s my breast milk that’s help them stay out of the hospital with this RSV, but it definitely feels good to know every time they latch on they’re getting specific antibodies to help fight off their sickness!🙏🙏🙏
On the other hand, I definitely need to get their lip ties fixed.😩 it is so painful to nurse them on my left side.🤦🏼♀️
Lip ties are also linked to mastitis. (But I usually don’t nurse them – I just pump. So my mastitis is def not from their lip ties …but bc they’re super sick I began nursing a lot to get those antibodies for them and OUCH!)
3 months in with these precious baby boys and we’re still just figuring it all out.🤪
We are going to make an appointment to have their mouths looked at again bc my lactation consultant showed me exactly where the ties are … I’m hoping to get them taken care of next week so I can nurse these baby boys pain free!🤪🙌
Neither of my first two had ties so this is all new to me…babies number 3 & 4 and still discovering new things!🤪😆 Have you ever had a baby with a lip or tongue tie?! Whatd the doc say to do to fix it?
