In half of women with fibroids, symptoms occur and 30% of the time those symptoms can be severe. This can include pelvic pain, pressure, heavy or irregular bleeding, painful sex, lower back pain and even bladder or bowel problems.
Treatment options include medication, hormonal treatment, surgery, UAE. While fibroids tend to shrink approx 30% after menopause, they don’t disappear completely.
