this is the last drunk bathroom selfie I’ve ever taken. two years ago I parted ways with alcohol. my swan song was on st Patrick’s day, go figure I’ve been hesitant to talk about it because I don’t want to declare I’ll *never* drink again — all I knew when I quit is that it wasn’t serving me, especially in emotionally turbulent periods of my life. it brought a lot of chaos that frankly wouldn’t have been there otherwise. sometimes the chaos was good (parkour) sometimes the chaos was bad (puking) but chaos is still chaos & I felt ready to stop letting a lemon drop dictate my midnight decisions as much as I miss the friendships forged in the girls bathroom, being sober for the past few years has taught me more about myself than anything else (with the exception of grief) & I’m proud of me for recognizing a problem, changing it & sticking to sparkling water for two whole rounds around the sun cheers 🥂

I am literally just a girl

I met my 19 year old self for coffee today. She just did her first open mic. She admits she’s not very good, but with enough practice maybe someday she will be. I tell her to keep going; one day 1,000 people in Singapore and 800 people in Manila will come to see her. Thank you so much for the biggest solo shows of my career so far!! I can’t believe I get to do this. Thank you for making it possible. I’m sorry I couldn’t motorboat you Singapore!! I promise I’ll get the right permits next time 💕
