CA Palak Rathi Instagram – Here’s how you can save your time at airports!
So last year, when I was traveling from India to Singapore, I stood in the immigration queue for at least 30 minutes. But when I landed in Singapore, the same process took just 30 seconds because they had automated immigration machines! And now, India also has it!
The Trusted Traveller program has been launched by the Government – which is currently at 8 airports (Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad & Cochin) and will soon expand to a total of 21 airports.
You have to simply scan your boarding pass, your passport, and verify your biometrics. Once these steps are completed, the e-gate opens, and immigration is done. No officers, no questioning, and most importantly no long queues.
To become a Trusted Traveller, visit ftittp.mha.gov.in, create an account, and submit your details. Once approved, you’ll be required to schedule a biometric appointment at a designated international airport or the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) as listed below.
The list of designated international airports is as follows:
Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Goa(dabolim), Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Gaya, Jaipur, Lucknow, Trichy, Varanasi, Calicut, Manglore, Pune, Nagpur, Coimbatore, Bagdogra, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Vishakapatnam, Madurai, Bhubaneswar, Port Blair, Kannur, Indore, Goa(mopa).
The list of FRRO offices is as follows:
FRRO Delhi, FRRO Mumbai, FRRO Chennai, FRRO Bengaluru, FRRO Ahmedabad, FRRO Amritsar, FRRO Hyderabad, FRRO Kolkata, FRRO Lucknow, FRRO Cochin, FRRO Trivandrum, FRRO Kozhikode (Calicut).
After verification by the Bureau of Immigration (BoI), you’ll be enrolled. This service is completely free and remains valid for five years.
So share this with someone who’s going to travel international soon. And to never miss an important government update, follow @ca.palakrathii!🚀
