Here’s how you can save your time at airports! So last year, when I was traveling from India to Singapore, I stood in the immigration queue for at least 30 minutes. But when I landed in Singapore, the same process took just 30 seconds because they had automated immigration machines! And now, India also has it! The Trusted Traveller program has been launched by the Government – which is currently at 8 airports (Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad & Cochin) and will soon expand to a total of 21 airports. You have to simply scan your boarding pass, your passport, and verify your biometrics. Once these steps are completed, the e-gate opens, and immigration is done. No officers, no questioning, and most importantly no long queues. To become a Trusted Traveller, visit ftittp.mha.gov.in, create an account, and submit your details. Once approved, you’ll be required to schedule a biometric appointment at a designated international airport or the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) as listed below. The list of designated international airports is as follows: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Goa(dabolim), Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Gaya, Jaipur, Lucknow, Trichy, Varanasi, Calicut, Manglore, Pune, Nagpur, Coimbatore, Bagdogra, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Vishakapatnam, Madurai, Bhubaneswar, Port Blair, Kannur, Indore, Goa(mopa). The list of FRRO offices is as follows: FRRO Delhi, FRRO Mumbai, FRRO Chennai, FRRO Bengaluru, FRRO Ahmedabad, FRRO Amritsar, FRRO Hyderabad, FRRO Kolkata, FRRO Lucknow, FRRO Cochin, FRRO Trivandrum, FRRO Kozhikode (Calicut). After verification by the Bureau of Immigration (BoI), you’ll be enrolled. This service is completely free and remains valid for five years. So share this with someone who’s going to travel international soon. We tried the government’s free online doctor consultation, and here’s how it went. The eSanjeevani platform offers free online doctor consultations, making healthcare more accessible across India. What worked well: Simple process: Easy to sign up, select your health concern, and choose a doctor. Plenty of doctors available: The platform has a large pool of doctors from various hospitals. Instant prescription: Once the consultation is complete, a detailed prescription is generated. Challenges we faced: Finding an available doctor: While there are many doctors listed, there’s no direct way to see who is currently online. Users have to manually check each hospital and doctor profile, making the process time-consuming. Video call issues: The consultation call did not connect despite multiple attempts, which can be a major inconvenience for patients relying on online consultations. Inconsistent patient statistics: The number of consultations on the website did not update, raising concerns about data accuracy. The platform has great potential for non-emergency cases, but a few improvements like better doctor availability filters and fixing video call connectivity – could make it more user-friendly. We’ve also shared this feedback with the respective authorities in the hope that these issues will be addressed. If you’ve tried eSanjeevani, share your experience in the comments! The only app you’ll need for any time you travel by train – has been launched by the Government. The SwaRail App. The Ministry of Railways has launched the SwaRail App, developed by @CRIS, to make train travel smoother and more convenient. This app brings multiple railway services under one platform, reducing the need for multiple apps. Reserved Ticket Booking – Book long-distance train tickets easily. Unreserved Ticket Booking – Get short-distance tickets for daily commutes. Platform Ticket Booking – Purchase platform tickets online without waiting in queues. Season Passes – Monthly/quarterly/half-yearly/yearly travel passes for regular commuters. Live Train Status – Track real-time train location, delays and even coach position. PNR Status Inquiry – Check if your ticket is confirmed, RAC, or waitlisted. E-Catering – Order meals from IRCTC-authorized vendors and get them delivered to your seat. Not just this, the Rail Madad app, which was previously used for all the issues listed below , has now been integrated into the SwaRail SuperApp. Even businesses can use it to plan shipping bookings easily, without any trouble. You can log in with your IRCTC or UTS account, or create a new one if you don’t have either Right now, it’s still being tested, but if you want to try it early, comment TRAIN, and I’ll send you the link. Android users might have to wait a little longer, but I’ll update you once it’s fully launched. For frequent train travelers, this makes things so much easier. Share it with someone who’ll find it useful! Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh… Uniform Civil Code says, same rules for everyone! What is UCC? A common set of civil laws for marriage, divorce, inheritance, and adoption – no matter your religion or gender. Uttarakhand – First State to Implement UCC Introduced in Jan 2025, UCC applies the same civil rules for everyone. It is expected to be implemented in other states of India as well as announced by Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha. Some Key Provisions: ▪️ Equal inheritance rights for all children – sons, daughters & adopted ones. ▪️ Minimum marriage age is specified and registration within 60 days of marriage is compulsory. ▪️ Divorce grounds: cruelty, cheating, desertion, mental illness, incurable disease. ▪️ Either spouse can claim alimony based on financial need. ▪️ Live-in relationships? Mandatory registration within 30 days. ▪️ Penalties for non-compliance Why People Support It: Gender equality & simpler laws. Why Some Oppose It: Concerns about religious freedom & diversity. What’s your take on it? A step towards equality or a tricky challenge? Let me know!
