Diana Nyad Instagram – Many ancient cultures honored this very day, the Winter Solstice. Here are Bonnie and me in Egypt in 2021. Our minds were blown to learn that some 5,000 years ago the architects of the pyramids built an opening to allow the pinpoint light of the Winter Solstice to penetrate a hole in the stone and flow down to bathe the sarcophagus of the king. Today, December 21, signals the hope of more light to come. Each coming day will now give us more daylight, more motivation to see and appreciate the wondrous world around us. Happy Solstice Day!
