Geena Davis Instagram – It was an inspiring evening in Hollywood at last night’s #GoldenGlobes, especially for women over 50! 👏 An often invisible population on screen, women over 50 took center stage on the red carpet, as nominees, and as Golden Globe winners. Representation of this age group on screen has come a long way. In 2021, our research showed that male characters over 50 significantly outnumbered females in films, broadcast TV, and streaming platforms. For example, in top films from 2010 to 2020, 80% of 50-plus characters were men. We are proud to celebrate the incredible women over 50 who are dominating the industry both in front of and behind the camera.
