Entering the last week of the run at the Gielgud Theatre of the Irish masterpiece, JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK. This play is a marvel of ingenious writing, full of well drawn characters, stuffed with humor and pathos. I don’t understand why this play isn’t done more outside of Ireland, as it is a true classic! Few younger people I have spoken with have read it or seen or even heard of it, which breaks my heart. It should be done in the West End and Broadway regularly, not to mention regional theatres, college campuses, high schools. It is, I think, my favorite play. It is my heart. And Juno herself is my muse fueled by an undercurrent of love channeled from my mother who died several years ago but who lives in me during these performances. It is truly one the Great Plays.❤️💔❤️🇮🇪 Genius cast: Mark Rylance, Paul Hilton, Aisling Kearns, Eimhin Fitzgerald-Doherty, Anna Healy, Ingrid Craigie (Irish bestie!), Chris Walley (“show boyfriend”, @marytesta.actress will understand), Seán Duggan, Caolan McCarthy, (my “lil something something on the side/show bf™️; @marytesta.actress again), Leo Hannah, Jacinta Whyte, Jessica Cervi, Brian Moriarty, Jone Rice. Directed by Matthew Warchus and designed by Rob Howell. Try to see this beautiful rich play with these fabulous characters played by this utterly brilliant, beautiful cast. Running through 23 November.

Rest in peace, wonderful Claire Van Kampen. I didn’t have the chance to get to know her well, but , like everyone, I was struck by her immense musicality and warmth. She composed divine music for #junoandthepeacock this past fall at the Gielgud Theatre, in London’s West End. My heart goes out to Mark and Juliet Rylance, who survive her. She was… she was just one of those “bright lights”, you know? A joyous, funny and kind person. Very honored to have met her and to have worked with her.❤️💔❤️
Thank you to my social media pals from around the world!!!💗💗💗
Sending love to our company today on their final performance after an unforgettable 9-week run. Congratulations to everyone who has made this show possible, and thank you to our wonderful audiences who have supported us along the way. #JunoAndThePaycock
