These photos were about two years ago, just before I had my lupus diagnosis. As you can see I had a lot of hair! Besides the other agonising symptoms of lupus, one thing that mentally was breaking me was my hair falling out in chunks! I lost so much of it, it devastated me. My rheumatologist told me that once my lupus was under control that it would stop the hair loss. So alongside my medication I went hard core into focusing on nutrition and making sure I ate none or next to no preservatives, I focused on mindfulness to keep my stress levels down, which in turn helped my sleep pattern. I took inventory of my environment and who made me feel good to be around, I started moving my body more and learning the balance of not over doing it, but just doing enough for what my body needs. I lead a relatively healthy life before, but I had a nervous system that had been totally shot to pieces over many years and learned breathing techniques to regulate that. I’m happy to say my hair has been growing back over the last few months and really feel like me again! And for once I’m finally happy to be me, I think it’s what I needed all along 🥰 I’ve worked for a year creating @myaida.app so if you have an autoimmune disease like me check it out 🥰 #lupus #autoimmunediseases #heal
