If this is accurate, and not a demonstration of something unrelated, I will say that it would be of great benefit to these individuals, and others who feel this way, to look clearly at what you’re seeing, instead. There is a new President, your President. Perhaps things in our country will improve, but rejecting that possibility out of hand is to reject your own future. Until Trump proves that your fears are founded, these fears, and screams, and anxiousness, and stress to which you are subjecting yourself are only going to make you ill, unfortunately. Why not sit back and see what the man and his cabinet can do. Let’s just be Americans, and not devotees of these two parties. I personally think both parties are very flawed, which is why I just look at the individual running when I vote, and not their party. I’m just saying it’s worth a try. I know what it feels like to be in a whirlpool of resentment and fear. It will damage you on the inside. And that whirlpool is often based on ideas and not reality. Just try the idea that it’s going to be ok. Just as an experiment.

You don’t have to be “liberal” (whatever that means anymore) for this to be true. If you have committed to an identity that requires you to be dissatisfied with anything and everything that is going on around you, you will be unhappy. Those who have required that commitment of you have tricked you into stepping out of your own life. The only person who has suffered as a result, is you. You can reverse this. Look around at your own life and you will see that you have an incredible amount of good things in your life. Start pointing them out to yourself. Your whole perspective will change. Forget these political parties. Your commitment is not being seen by any of the politicians you are following. You’ve already given them years of your life and they have no idea. Turn this around on a dime, and be happy with what you have been gifted in your life. You are not going to be given another life. Don’t waste this one on people who don’t even know your name.
As the studios unfortunately continue down this road of extinction, thankfully I and other filmmakers are headed into The New. We are establishing a new film business where excellence, not “content,” reigns. Come to the CREDO23FilmFest.com 3/28-30 in LA to see great non-AI films and hear more about The New.

These comments from @tabithaswanson_ and @dankartdirectormemes are important. For the first time in history, we’ve seen almost an entire era of photographers and other artists distracted with the incorporation of the rapid introduction of a series of new tech. And also the relentless self-promotion on social media and websites. In the past, the artist had only their artistry to concern themselves with. But, for a while now they have been expected to pull focus from that in order to “keep up” with a carousel of tech that does little to improve that artistry. We will never know what creative heights could have been reached without this heavy siphoning of their attention. Full text below: “Idk how everyone else feels, but I’ve been feeling an overwhelming exhaustion with having to constantly learn new skills and pivot. Going from graphic design, to AR, digital fashion, avatars, VR, Al, blah blah, it feels like I’ve had to learn a new program every 4 months to stay relevant in the industry. And then doing socials on top of that. Idk if everyone relates to this, but part of a bigger convo about the hyperspeed of everything, I guess.” “I think also all the movements in the last years, NFTs, Crypto, Metaverse, Digital Fashion, now Al – all marketed as these utopias, when they’ve at their core often been spaces for corps and financial gain. So many grifters in these spaces too. Many ppl really did have high hopes, but I think there was a bit of detachment with reality and the final results are just sad to see.” “Sharing this because I don’t have the steam for memes atm, but the points raised by @tabithaswanson_ here are so valid – the expectation to be able to learn and keep up with emerging tech at such a relentless pace all for no extra (if not less) money.”

Thanks to @KTLA for the chat about the @_CREDO23_ Film Festival. 3/28-30 in LA. No #AI No “content” Just great films. Go to CREDO23FilmFest.com for info and passes.
The use of generative #AI won’t stop until it kills the Ad and Entertainment industries. The reason is because those above the cast and crew who shoot ads, films, and series are sick with greed, and eliminating these cast and crews leaves a lot of money for themselves.
New essay up on my RACE TRACK site. “There is an assumption by many circles, that being in a constant state of outrage is necessary. Here’s the question you have to answer: Are you willing to be happy instead? You have to be willing to experience radio silence from friends who don’t like that you’re not exhibiting faux panic. You have to be willing to not be invited over, because you have decided to just live your life, instead of reacting to every single report of the government’s actions. You have to be willing to move forward into the future in your own life, and trust that everything inside (and outside) of that is going to work out. Because the truth is that nothing is collapsing, there is no big national drama to attend to, and that you are not the Bruce Willis character in ARMAGEDDON, tasked with saving the world.” Read the rest of the essay at Substack link in bio.
“We’ve got some really great films,” Bateman told @laweekly in a phone call this week. “It’s easy to make decisions creatively when you have a thesis statement and a focus. Our objective at Credo 23 is no AI, no box-checking, and no content, just great filmmaking. The filmmakers are not based on demographics. I do not care how tall they are. I do not care what their gender is, I do not care what the color of their skin is. I do not care who they sleep with. That’s all completely unimportant. What’s important is the work and that’s how these projects were judged.” #C23FF 3/28-30 in LA. CREDO23FilmFest.com

new essay up on my RACE TRACK @Substack site. “Everything is moving finally after so many years of rigidity. Are you taking advantage of this moment? If you are an artist, you know what’s just happened. If you are gifted as an artist, called to be an artist, you know what I mean.“ Read rest of essay at link in bio.
New essay up on @Substack. “… And so I’ll tell you, the current culture of “Tech Bros,” who may or may not even know how to code, repulses me. Their love of money above all else is an anathema to the software engineer culture. It is a smack in the face to those who have spent innumerable hours learning the intricate details of a system in order to fix your company’s code at two in the morning. It is an insult to those who finally crack an efficient way to calculate complex data input.” Read the rest of the essay on my RACE TRACK Substack site. Link in bio.
New essay is up on my RACE TRACK site. Artist/Promoter/Cashier Eliminating the Gatekeepers Made the Artists’ Burden Heavier “…There’s another issue, and that is the absence of education about art for the masses. We once had taste-makers, critics, and gate-keepers to cull art and educate the public as to the manner of its appreciation. The Internet blew that apart with the wide availability of international distribution at the touch of a button. Without the gate-keeper structure, perhaps we have been exposed to a few artists we would not have otherwise known, but for the most part, it’s instead turned our once curated selection of artists into a Costco-sized swap meet of “stuff.” Each one of us as art consumers is now required to paw through this junk yard in order to find the gem or two that appeal to us. In the end, we will often reject the exhausting exercise all together in favor of work from the past that was curated by these gate-keepers of yore, nonetheless.” Read the rest of the essay on my RACE TRACK Substack site.
