Kerry Butler Instagram – It’s strange to have to perform after such heartbreak. After 9/11 I was pretending to fall in love with a Batboy. During the pandemic I was pretending to be a ghost in Beetlejuice . And now after one of the largest natural disasters I am heading to perform in California. I kept thinking how can I help beyond raising money? And an opportunity fell into my lap (thank you @rosekemanuel ) We don’t think about all the theatre kids who in addition to losing homes, schools places they loved… also lost their theatres! I had this idea, and @segerstromarts was so generous and quick to help! The teachers while facing loss and devastation, have been channeling all their energy into making sure their shows goes on, and making something special for the kids. This is the one thing I know- theatre heals! Music heals us. If you need some healing, stop by @segerstromarts @michaelorland and I will be performing with some dear friends @jimmycarp who I did Xanadu and Rock of ages with will be joining me Jan 23, @chamberlin.kevin who I became great friends with in Disaster! will sing with me Jan 25th, and I have some VERY SPECIAL guests Jan 23-25th. AND Or you can see @akimbomusical ! (I LOVE this musical!) I just want to thank @segerstromarts for going above and beyond to help plan what I think and hope will be really uplifting.
