10 years. A whole decade of love, laughter, challenges, and celebration. Before we even embarked on this journey together, we knew life would bring its fair share of ups and downs, but through it all, we’ve stood side by side—stronger, wiser (sometimes :p) , and more in love (sometimes :p 🙄 ) than ever. These past ten years have been filled with memories that shaped us, struggles that strengthened us, and moments of pure joy that reminded us why we chose each other and the moments we don’t wanna recall ever :p. Together, we’ve built a life, a family, Hussaino bond and a love that only deepens with time. As we step into the next decade, to all the adventures ahead, knowing that no matter where life takes us, we’ll always have each other. Here’s to the love we share, the dreams we chase, and the countless moments still to come. Forever grateful for this journey with @sharmilafaruqui ♥️
My calling attention today to the Minister of Revenue and Finance is to highlight a very important issue—the severe tax burden crushing the salaried class. From 2022 to 2024, we contributed Rs. 368 billion in taxes, making us the third highest taxpayers, and in just six months of 2024, we have already paid Rs. 266 billion. On top of this, we are paying 15-20% GST on everything we buy, plus taxes on fuel and electricity—yet what do we get in return? Schools are failing, hospitals lack even the most basic facilities, and our infrastructure is crumbling. Every year, we are promised relief, and every year, we are taxed even more. People are exhausted, frustrated, and struggling to make ends meet. Where is our money going? How much more will the salaried class be squeezed before the government finally gives them the fairness and relief they deserve? #TaxReliefNow #FairTaxation #SalariedClassStruggles #WhereIsOurMoney #stopovertaxingus
Danish Taimoor’s remark—that he is “allowed” four marriages in Islam but is “doing a favor” to Ayeza Khan by not marrying again—is not just arrogant, it’s a blatant reflection of how men manipulate religion to suit their own dominance. Polygamy in Islam is not a privilege handed to men at their convenience; it is an exception under strict conditions of justice—conditions most men fail to meet. His statement reduces marriage to a power play, where a man’s so-called restraint is framed as an act of generosity rather than a basic expectation of loyalty and respect. Ayeza Khan’s quiet smile, whether out of grace or societal conditioning, only highlights how deeply ingrained these attitudes are—where women are expected to nod along while their worth is diminished in casual jokes. This is the real problem: men believing that women owe them gratitude for not being discarded or replaced. Women do not need favors; they need respect, agency, and the recognition that marriage is a partnership, not a man’s charity. #RespectWomen #MarriageIsPartnership #IslamAndJustice #WomenAreNotProperty #StopMaleEntitlement #AyezaKhan #DanishTaimoor #GenderEquality #PolygamyInIslam

Pakistan’s power sector is in freefall, drowning in Rs. 2.4 trillion of circular debt and Rs. 589 billion in DISCO losses. Transmission and distribution losses have hit 18.3%, far above NEPRA’s 11.7% limit, fueled by theft, corruption, and mismanagement. Instead of fixing the rot, DISCOs now want a 400% hike in security deposits, squeezing already struggling consumers. Boards are sacked, but nothing changes—ordinary people keep paying more for a system that barely works.#sharmilafaruqi #nationalassemblyofpakistan

On December 27, the nation pauses to remember Benazir Bhutto, a towering figure in Pakistan’s history whose life was tragically cut short in 2007. Seventeen years later, her absence is felt more acutely than ever, as Pakistan continues to grapple with challenges that she once faced head-on with resilience and vision. One cannot help but wonder: what would Pakistan look like today if Benazir were still here? Would we have seen a stronger democracy, a more united nation, and a society more willing to embrace progress? But Benazir’s legacy is not just about what she achieved — it is also about what she left behind. Her children, Bakhtawar, Bilawal, and Aseefa, are living embodiments of her values and resilience. As we mark her death anniversary, it is impossible not to feel a pang of regret for what might have been. Benazir’s Pakistan was a vision of hope — a place where progress and tradition could coexist, where the voices of the marginalised could be heard, and where the future was brighter than the past. Her absence has left a void that no one has been able to fill, a reminder of how much we lost on that dark December day… #salaambenazir #PPP
“We are prepared to risk our lives. We’re prepared to risk our liberty. But we’re not prepared to surrender this great nation to militants. The attack was on what I represent. The attack was on democracy and very unity and integrity of Pakistan.” #benazirbhutto #martyrdomanniversary
Art 25 A inserted in constitution in 2010. Fourteen years later Pm declares National education emergency in Pakistan, 19 member task force formed and 26.2 mn children out of school. Hec struggling with a Rs 60 bn shortfall. Are we headed in the right direction ? #nationalassemblyofpakistan #sharmilafaruqi
10 years later as we still mourn the tragic martyrs of #APS what have we done for our children today? 29 babies died in Parachinar hospital due to lack of medicines, we are still struggling to eradicate polio virus as the current no of affected children hit 64… Pakistan is the 5th most prominent country in human trafficking with 80% trafficking of women & children. In punjab alone last year the no of girls abducted were 40000! Who have we held accountable so far ? It’s the state’s responsibility to provide protection to the women & children. Where have we gone wrong…?! #nationalassemblyofPakistan #sharmilafaruqi
Introduced 3 bills today in the @NAofPakistan 1. Code of criminal procedure ( amendment ) bill 2024. 2. Climate accountability bill 2024 3. Corrosive Substances Assault( Prevention & Protection) bill 2024 #nationalassemblyofpakistan #sharmilafaruqi
ML-1 up-gradation project faces delays, the safety standards of Pakistan railways is a huge concern for us. With 537 train accidents in the last 5 years, including 313 accidents resulting in death or serious injuries. This comes to an alarming average of 107 accidents per year. Has anyone been held accountable ? Who will ensure the safety of our passengers? #nationalassemblyofpakistan #sharmilafaruqi
