Tara Sharma Instagram – A v #happydiwali 🪔 everyone. Good wishes and
love from all of us to all of you ..❤️🧿 #family photos invariably have one person shutting their eyes (pic 1 Gaaga haaha as our kids call my Mum) or turning away or generally being in another zone hence the 3 pix. (Tia is allowed to do anything clearly haaha!) Not really celebrating or partying this year, not that we do much, but just a wish for all and remembering those loved ones not with us too. Diwali 🪔 good over evil. Find the light in every situation. Spread the light and positivity. A few things that come to mind on the festival of lights. What does it make you think of? Wishes for good health, joy, love, success, being good kind humble people & all good things for us all touch wood😀. Simple, easy to wear, cheerful home Diwali outfits from @fabindiaofficial .
Wishing you all lots of light.
For anyone newer to my insta feed, yes my Mum is English and my Dad who v sadly passed over 12 yrs ago, Indian, Punjabi. So I am #mixed . If that’s even a word haaha! @roopaksaluja is half Sardar and half Nepalese, his father v sadly passed on 7 months ago. R is mixed too so yep our kids are quite a mix. We all are in different ways I guess, not just ethnicity, but ideas, interests and passions too but also so much the same. As a mixed kid, appreciating all festivals and doing rituals, often a mish mash of traditional and our own interpretations is something I always gravitated to. I think we all sort of do this, mixed or not what say? I guess what I am saying is we’re all so different and yet so the same. My amazing Mum has lived in India for over 55 years & feels very Indian in many ways. And Christmas for us is as much a thing as Diwali. Okay enough of my ramble but would love to hear any of your #mixed stories too and or non mixed and just how and what you do on Diwali? And what your kids do. We do a simple Lakshmi puja, something I enjoy doing and sort of do my version of and the family kindly joins in, though as big teens now they indulge me for just limited time haaha! We light some diyas, wear Indian outfits, do a lil rangoli and have a family meal and evening. A dash of cards, maybe. #mixedthatsus
