We all are in different ways I guess, not just ethnicity, but ideas, interests and passions too but also so much the same. My amazing Mum has lived in India for over 55 years & feels very Indian in many ways. And Christmas for us is as much a thing as Diwali. Congrats all the kids who stood in the elections and woohoo our Zen for winning President!!! Kai is current class rep so we managed a photo of both brothers in their badges which is hard to do as getting teens to pose as you know is not easy haaha So proud of you boys ❤️💜🧿🩷 As always it is not just about winning, losing, winning winning but all the lessons one learns too. Won’t ramble on but given they are v independent and almost secretive in not letting us hear their speeches etc beforehand, we were happy to be invited to the lovely #Investiture ceremony at their fab school (which I am an alum of too) and witness Z’s vote of thanks. Being someone who loves public speaking and @roopaksaluja does too and Daddy #partapsharma was known for it, must admit I feel he must have a hand from above in Z’s speaking prowess. Lots of hard work ahead and lots to learn, hopefully being empathetic leaders. Onward and upward touch wood😀 Sorry about the gushy Mummy post, but yep while raising #teenagers is quite a roller coaster of emotions, where praise and reprimand seem to balance out, celebrating victories and milestones is an indulgence many of us parents I think allow ourselves. #staysafe

A little #flashbackfriday liril and me dancing in the desert for a ad this time haaha..Being an commercial, ofcourse there are creative liberties and it is not real. I would not ask hard working women who have collected water in the scorching desert to throw it on me, nor would the brand. That’s a caveat and the reality, but if they had enough and it is a creative piece and they and I are having fun, which we were, I guess I smile at the memory too. Model UNs #MUN s are fab! Congrats again Kai and Zen on winning best delegate in your committees in your fab school MUN..These photos are a few months apart, left is of K in this MUN and right of Z in a previous one. He was one of the group of Senior kids helping organise the one for the younger lot this time. While as siblings they have some similar interests and some different, it’s interesting to observe how MUNs, public speaking, sport, music are shared interests. Gosh they fight loads as I’m sure most of you with #teens experience too, but once in a while when they help each other or discuss stuff without swear words or punches thrown in, it’s moving. And preparing for this MUN had a few such moments. Which ofcourse we would be blasted for trying to capture so no such photographic evidence haaha! I held back sharing this as I didn’t want to seem gloaty, though thanks to #thetarasharmashow originating as my Diary as a Mum, honestly I often weave personal experience into wider topics, or slip in some praise when my Mummy heart feels it. The wider topic is: Is it better to encourage our kids to be all rounders or to focus on just one or a few things? Honestly for our kids I find they find their passions and decide what to work hard on and pursue. For K football is huge and most of his time compared to other things is spent on that, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t work hard on and enjoy other things too. Z took to MUNs and performing very young, it may have been easy to label him the MUNer in our family, I’m glad we didn’t as so many other things interest him too. Thanks perhaps to K’s sports passion, he took up tennis. Siblings compete and we do try and ensure it is healthy competition and not fighting which admittedly often happens haaha, but siblings also often unconsciously or consciously encourage each other to try new things. Maybe even help a bit. Any thoughts? A day after he won a footy award this happened so I didn’t want to share it thinking it would look too much, but then as parents we know sometimes things happen all at once so hope ok to and every child is a star in their own way what say? So sorry to hear of the passing of legendary designer @rohitbalofficial Gudda … We did not know him well but whenever we met we were struck by his warmth and the fun he seemed to carry with him. So talented, was just marveling at the pieces at this amazing LFW finale show, his swan song. Rest in Peace. Legends live forever 🙏🏼 .
