There really are no words for how gorgeous these @litpinsandco editions of VICIOUS are, especially with cover art by @coreybrickleyillustration. And since I just passed 50k on the third and final installment, VICTORIOUS, it seemed a fitting time to give my favorite depictions of Victor and Eli some love.

At some point you finish putting the story on paper, but that doesn’t mean the characters stop living, only that you’re following them anymore. But sometimes I stop and wonder where they are. But Kell knew it came from the blood.” In love with this incredible piece by @yewberries for the @Owlcrate special edition of A Darker Shade of Magic. It’s so weird as I work on the finale of the Villains, outline the next Threads of Power, and brainstorm a new novel very close to my heart, to think that all these people, all their magic, came from different corners of the same brain. No wonder it sometimes feels crowded in there 😉
With 6 months until Bury Our Bones hits shelves, I thought it might be time to give you a peak at some of the other things you’ll find in this book. 😈 I was hugely inspired by the dynamic between Louis and Lestat, but even more so by their domestic turbulence, and by the collateral damage they left behind. So, in addition to hunger and lust and history and queerness, and agency, and trauma, Bury Our Bones is a novel about what happens when the bodies you leave in your wake come back to hunt you.
This year wasn’t a great one, as far as creative metrics go—thanks to a combination of burnout and the months it took to sign my name 300,000 times—but I did manage to hit my annual reading goal of 125 books.
