Victoria Spence Instagram – We see a lot of Instagram vs. reality, where the reality isn’t actual reality, so I’m here to break up your feed with what mine and the majority of other people’s lives look like 90% of the time.
Do you know all the ‘candid’ photos people post on social media that look so cute and in the moment? They’re not real. A lot of thought has gone into the outfits, the backgrounds, the whole aesthetic. Furniture & mess moved out of shot, pinterest boards made of poses; most the time, they’re shot on proper cameras, in hired rooms, with time spent on the editing process. The designer items are all dupes, and the laughing and dancing about is an act for the shot. The reality is that photos and content are more important than enjoying the moment- tbh, most of the time, they’re not even there to enjoy the moment, just to make it look like they are.
And I say they, but I mean we- because I can do this too sometimes.
& if I’m honest, I love consuming the aesthetic girl content, but I do have to remind myself when I look at my candid photos that genuinely were taken in the moment & compare them to the ones I see on Instagram and pinterest that it’s not real life and this is your reminder too🫶🏻 #instagramvsreality | Posted on 02/Feb/2025 21:52:36
