veins of grain
above me
the tower of a tree
thick with weight
but floating
horizontally
in the sea of the sky
and the leaves with their slight rustle
singing
above it
fighting for the spotlight
with the clouds that swim by
above them
without a care in the world
in a world that doesn’t feel like it cares
anymore
or can afford to
a small reminder
to look up
again
because it all just keeps
going
