I was so happy to receive the students of the history department at @auc_egypt in the headquarters of @tarabcollective @taqseeminstitute for a lecture about baladi dance. We covered so many topics from baladi dance as part of Egyptian heritage to collective memory of the dance in our society to questions and answers of students. A very special thank you to Dr. Pascale Ghazaleh for her initiative and facilitation as well as the history department interest in baladi dance. Tarab Collective prides itself on being an institution where open dialogue is encouraged and as well as a safe space where people can voice their opinions, concerns, and ideas with pride without having to be “anonymous”.

We were so happy to receive the Arab history class from @georgetownuniversity at our headquarters in @tarabcollective @taqseeminstitute as part of a collaboration with Dr. Pascale Ghazaleh of @auc_egypt and Dr. Rochelle Davis of @georgetownuniversity . The students spent a week in Cairo learning arab history culminating in a final day in Taqseem Institute learning about Baladi Dance as part of Egyptian History and taking part in a “Collaborative Cultures” iftar joined by our esteemed friends and partners.
