What a gift and what a loss.
Yesterday: I celebrated my 42nd year around the sun and also celebrated the man who helped me to get there. I first met Don on October 16, 2016. At that time, my life was shrouded in absolute darkness and I had lost almost all hope. Little did I know ( though some part of me must have) that my being would be irrevocably altered from that meeting and I would never be the same. Yesterday I sat outside amongst nature, listening to others share how their lives too had/ continue to be transformed by his wisdom. It would be easy to say that he ‘taught’ Love. But what he really did was embody it and gave others permission to do the same. It would be easy to say that he ‘taught’ living with an open heart. But he didn’t do that. He lived it and held space for countless others as they fought to open theirs, mine included. There was no better way to celebrate my birthday than to spend the day celebrating the life of the one who truly saved mine all those years ago. The Divine Love in me salutes the Divine Love in you, Don. Your spirit will continue to live through all the hearts you’ve opened, made softer, stronger and will we continue to remember to dance/ play with the Edge….. with an open heart, of course. You can find me over on #bluesky . So far it’s truly been lovely and has a much better interface than T*reads. Almost like Twitter in the before times….
Doing the thing, even when I don’t feel like it. #pilates #movethebody

When the robin first came, I thought it was my dad saying hello…. Whenever I’m feeling lost or down, I always fall back to the silent prayer of asking for a visit- a confirmation- that I’m on the road I’m meant to be. That I am indeed being looked after…..Don’t we all search for signs that we’re being taken care of and watched over by those who are no longer physically here…. Yesterday we had a massive storm. The kind of storm that will leave a knot in your stomach. And as I went onto my porch, thunder shaking the floor beneath my feet, I discovered something miraculous; a nest. A pair of robins felt safe enough to build their place, share their space, with us. They felt safe enough to ensure their eggs would be protected under our porch roof. And now that the storm has passed, the morning is brings lots of chatter between the pair and no song has ever sounded more sweet.
