I cannot tell you how much I’m loving this Raised on Songs and Stories Tour. I knew it would be beautiful but it’s exceeded my expectations. This is such a special tour full of interaction, chats, songs, poems and the time to simply enjoy each others company for one night. Thanks to @guitardarling and @oscar_golding_music for being the most amazing musicians, you’re such a joy to perform with and thanks to @jawbonemusic for opening the show with such talent!! Thanks to all of you who’ve already joined us and I look forward to seeing more of you on the last few gigs. Imelda x Remaining shows are 17th April in Cardiff, 18th April in London and 19th April in Brighton. Few tickets left for Cardiff tomorrow & the VIP upgrade in London, link in bio! Dress and cape by @saraoneillartist Little heart necklace I bought from @chooselove and wear every day. @bettyandbiddy earrings @clodagh_mckenna gave me 😘 and I wear every day. My haircut was cut by @dylanbradshawdublin weeks ago and clearly needs to be cut again 😅
Last night @theatremoat we celebrated with the full spirit of Brigid at ‘Nothing Compares’ Imbas was flowing strongly and so it was a special night. Ever supportive @hotpressmagazine invited us to @theatremoat and our hearts opened as @rachel_skinc @lemoncello___ @unahealy @mariadoylekennedy artistry and pure talent blew us all away. Nothing prepared me for Ireland’s First Lady Sabrina Higgins rousing, truthful and heartfelt speech. My God she’s a special woman. @guitardarling accompanied me with flair and ease. The brilliantly slick @thewhitmore hosted with such warmth as always she inspired the audience to be just so open and giving. Friendship, love, strength, vulnerability, connection all made themselves heard. We closed the night with our sister @sineadoconnorofficial words in our hearts and on our tongues, Thanks to all including @kildarecountycouncil @jasondohertyphotography @abigailr_photos as I wore my Palestinian dress made by @tatreezsisters thinking of all those living in fear and devastation and praying hard for peace and hope.. Because of last night I was in a good place today to feel Brigids quiet power while simultaneously wearing three of my favourite scarves by @loubrennandesign @victoriamaryclarke @jenniferrothwelldesign as my Brat Bhride (Brigids Cloak) that I hung on a bushel last night to be blessed by the passing spirit of Brigid and wrap myself in all year when in need of healing. Imbolc a blessings upon us all as we spring towards new life, new beginnings, love, light and hope. Love Imelda x

I’m still processing the loss of one of my all time hero’s Pat Ingoldsby. Anyone who knows me knows how much I talk about his words and his incredible mind. His writings inspire and astound me and will continue to have an impact on me for the rest of my life. My father and I had a mutual love of him and read his poems to each other and laughed and cried together as I now do with my daughter. I really believe he is one of the best literary genius’, poets, writers, minds to ever come out of Ireland. He had a remarkable truth in him and he was dedicated to that truth His refusal to live, act, think how we’re told we all should unnerved people. There was a childlike element to his artistic freedom and I do not mean childish, I mean brutally honest with a way of seeing the world with fresh and inquisitive eyes that few adults manage to hold onto. His attitude to daily seemingly mundane things is shown to us as magical, his dedication to love could shatter open the hardest of hearts, his no holds barred “stick it up you arse” totally punk swagger to establishments/governments/protocol/systems/consumerism etc.. that fail many is nothing short of heroic and his amusement for and in life itself can totally flip a persons way of seeing everything Pat had and will always have a power because of how he thought and in the way he wrote. I was so honoured to be asked to be a part of the documentary of his life at his request and flew to meet him. When I met Pat he told me he loved my writing.. honestly one of the best moments of my life. His was approval I could only hope for. I could tell you of his life, his well known refusal to sell books in shops and only in person in the street, his years long battles with mental and physical health, his love of women, cats, banter, sky, sea, etc… but you’ll way better discover him if you read his own words. Trust me, read his words and he’ll be your hero too. His funeral will be held tomorrow Thursday 6th in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin at 2.30pm I can’t be there in person but I will be giving thanks for his life with all my heart. 🙏❤️ #rippatingoldsby #totallegend My condolences to his family and friends

Happy Birthday to my “I’m very Republican” Mammy aka Queen Madge We all miss you so much. I remember performing on stage at @royalalberthall to a packed venue and after asking for the best seats in the house for my ever supportive parents, scanning the theatre searching for them as I sang, I eventually spotted them. I could barely sing with the giggles. Dad and Mam, a staunch Irish Republican, clapping and singing away unbeknownst to her…in the Royal Box. When I told her afterwards we cried with laughter. She got great amusement out of telling that story. Thanks @thepatkenny @latelaterte for this cherished footage of our dearly missed mother and father. 💚🤍🧡
I cannot tell you how blown away I was by all who spoke and attended @wowglobal 15 year celebration. I was honoured to be in such incredible company and thrilled to perform at such a great event. Jude Kelly @judekellystudio is a Goddess for all she does for the benefit of ALL of us men and women alike for a better world Thanks @guitardarling for accompanying me performing Meet You At The Moon a song I wrote for the best woman I ever knew, my mother Madge Hope you had an inspiring #womensday too 🙏❤️ @elliekurttzphoto @queensofarchive dress of dreams

Am delighted @jawbonemusic will be joining me on my UK Raised on Songs & Stories tour this April. In the spirit of these shows, they have stripped themselves back to play their songs as they were written by Paddy Milner and Marcus Bonfanti – around the piano with an acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies. Will be gorgeous! Ticket link in my bio
