The Gombe – Burundi Corridor is a vital route for wildlife, especially the endangered chimpanzee, connecting Gombe National Park @gombe.nationalpark with Burundi’s southern region. This corridor plays a crucial role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. 🌿🌍
In partnership with 11 local villages surrounding Gombe NP, JGI-TZ under the Gombe Stream Research Center @gombestream has been working tirelessly on conservation efforts to safeguard wildlife and forests. 🌳💚
Thanks to generous funding from the Yousef Warren Foundation through JGI – Canada @janegoodallcan, we’ve built a new ranger post within the corridor, strengthening our ability to monitor and protect this important area. Together with the local communities, we’re committed to preserving the forests and wildlife that call this place home. 🌟🐾
