Some context – on December 19, 2011, the UN General Assembly passed Resolution 66/170, establishing this day to highlight girls’ rights and the unique challenges they face worldwide.
While we’ve been observing this day for years, the journey towards achieving true equity for girls is still far off. In fact in many ways, we’re scaling back on gains made. Which is why we have to keep speaking up!
