Outside our favourite pub called The White Swan in Twickers. Sometimes slightly wet when the Thames is on high tide but that’s never stopped play. Either bring your wellies and sit on the tables outside or stay inside the pub until the water stops lapping over the high steps
So many memories of singing carols by the piano on Christmas Day to sunny evenings as the sun sets over the River & Eel Pie Island. Annual raft races (no I didn’t compete) a few pre rugby drinks for hubby & friends & the best food around. Honey mustard chipolas to die for…
The pub was taken over my our friends Terry & Paul plus some other community spirited owners rescuing it as it went into trouble 15 years ago, then expertly run by Elaine & Kevin for the past 13 years with their team. Elaine & Kevin are leaving to have some new adventures and The White Swan of Twickers will have new landlords/ladies. The end of an era and hopefully for the community the start of a new one
Thank you Elaine & Kevin. You are the best and will be sooo missed xxx
