Annie suffered from endometriosis in her late 20’s which caused pain and heavy bleeding until it culminated in an incident where she felt a sudden gush of blood on her chair at a restaurant. Shocked and embarrassed she made an excuse to let her companions leave first and then stayed behind to clean up.
She was at a point in her career where she didn’t want to take time off for surgery so she had months of GnRH hormone shots to trick her body into stopping the bleeding. She was thrown into early menopause and suffered hair loss and extreme vaginal dryness that led to itch.
She tried everything – lasers, injections, creams and even acupuncture down there – until one day she had a vaginal massage with a traditional Chinese medicine cream.
Those of you who watched my Netflix show know that I grew up in Hong Kong on herbal remedies.
