💛💛💛💛💛 In 2021, Paco spent six days in the ICU fighting for his life. The conversation I had with him the other night felt eerily like the one I once had with his doctors before his life-saving surgery. Life has a way of coming full circle. From that same surgery, a dissolvable staple—meant to vanish—became trapped in scar tissue, lying dormant like a “sleeper cell.” Now, as I prepare to welcome new life into the world, that sleeper cell has awakened. Another surgery could fix this sudden blockage—but at his age and with his history, he likely wouldn’t survive, and the suffering would outweigh any hope. (A whole other existential thought- predetermination versus free-will) I believe we come into this life with a map— a blueprint stitched into our soul. We take wrong turns, slow down, get lost. But somehow, love always pulls us back to the path we’re meant to walk. (The hybrid theory) Paco is part of my road. 🛣️ Some soul contracts are loud—written in lightning. Paco’s was always simple, pure: unconditional love. ❤️ He spent his life teaching me what that means. And now, in these final chapters, he’s teaching me one of the most sobering lessons of all: You can’t see people’s clocks.⏰ We treat most days like they’re endless, when in reality, every day is a miracle. Every heartbeat is a gift. The other night, I poured out everything to him, thinking it might be our last real conversation. But the next day, he shifted. Just because it’s organic doesn’t mean it’s clean.🍓🥬 Even at the most high-end grocery stores, fruits and veggies — yes, even the organic ones — can be coated in pesticide residue, glyphosate, wax, and grime. 🌿 Farmers markets are usually better… but cross-contamination happens. Before you bite into that “clean” produce — WASH. IT. WELL. 🌀 I use a vegetable washing machine to loosen the invisible film and pesticide residue. 🧽 Then I follow up with a veggie wash, or a baking soda water soak, or a vinegar rinse, depending on the produce. You’d be shocked what comes off — even when it looks pristine. 🧬 Glyphosate is sneaky. Organic isn’t invincible. MTHFR affects how your body methylates, which is like your body’s internal detox and repair system. If you have this mutation, you can’t process synthetic folic acid properly (the form in most prenatals and fortified foods). It builds up instead of helping you.
