I can’t lie, part of why this makes me happy is that there are some posh dickheads in the media who’ve spent the last few weeks telling me what a failure I am, how I can’t write, that this book will be a flop. To all the haters and the losers: eat my ass.
More importantly than vengeance though, is the politics. There are loads of people out there who want the left to succeed, who are curious about Marxism, and have watched in horror as we’ve torn ourselves apart with the most individualistic form of identity politics possible. I’m so glad that this book is connecting with people who believe in the power of collective action.
