Nicholas had a really great time at the Newport Boat Parade this year! We all did! Thank you to my dear friends @jd50jessica and her sister Nikki for including @chrislaurita, Nick and I. Nicholas got to eat and drink everything he shouldn’t and he enjoyed every minute of it. He was SO well behaved there! I met some new great people and then we met up our friends @thethomaskent and @londonbrut and some other friends out to eat afterwards at @baysidenb . Throwback to Baby Nicholas before he regressed with Autism. He was saying so much and knew all of his letters, numbers, colors and shapes before he was 2. He was able to gain back a lot of language and skills over time. He’s not fully conversational but he’s doing great. He can verbally ask for all of his needs. He’s so incredibly smart too! He really is such a pleasure and brings so much joy to our family. 🧩 CJ just found it in his phone and sent it to me, so I wanted to share.

Nick is really progressing in his Spelling To Communicate class with @tompkinsvaleri #S2C It looks like he wants to be an advocate for Non-Speakers. He’s been at this for a little over 2 years now and he’s finally starting to open up and share his own thoughts more and more. It’s been really interesting. I’ll share more of the insightful things he types in the future. He really has a great sense of humor too! It really blows my mind. Nicholas is beyond intelligent. His vocabulary is off the charts as well. I had such a lovely day (as always) meeting up my beautiful dear friend @erriettelenas AKA @erriettelenasdesign who escaped the fires in LA for a little R&R in Oceanside, CA! We also spent some girl time with my son CJs sweetheart of a girlfriend @giarestivo who joined us for a delicious lunch at @highlow.f10 and then we did a little shopping. Girl time is always special and important. If you ever go there, The @theseabird is a beautiful hotel! So is the @missionpacifichotel ! I loved seeing the #TopGunHouse @highpie.f10 , home of the famous HIGH-pie! It’s SO adorable in there! I hope you all are out there exploring some new places too!
