Ilfenesh Hadera and Spike Lee have come a long way together. Her starring role in ‘Highest 2 Lowest,’ Spike Lee’s modern day A24 adaptation of an Akira Kurosawa class thriller, marks her fifth collaboration with the Brooklyn auteur, but you’d be forgiven if you didn’t catch her first role with him: a single line in an HBO pilot about boxing that never saw the light of day. Still, she made an impression—over the next decade she’s been a key player in his team of actors (when she’s not scoring plum roles in everything from prestige power struggles like ‘Billions’ and ‘Godfather of Harlem’ to the bouncy beach comedy ‘Baywatch’). With ‘Highest 2 Lowest’ coming to theaters this week, Hadera caught up with friend, former Baywatch co-star, and current lead of the AMC TV series ‘Mayfair Witches,’ Alexandra Daddario. The two dish on the summer camp-like thrill of filming on location, how their real-life relationships survive industry madness, and keeping track of onscreen kisses. My beloved father ~ Asfaha Hadera ~ March 15, 1949- February 17, 2025. Our hearts are in pieces. I’m not ready to share this, but considering his impact and his reach, I feel an obligation. To him, to all those of you who experienced the power of his love and guidance. If you knew my papa and are just learning of his passing here now, please send me a message and I will respond as soon as I can to share the details of his funeral service.
#highest2lowest opening weekend! Show me those tickets!! Thank you all so much for the love so far, we hope you’ll see our movie in theatres before it hits Apple TV in September. Too LIVE for the small screen, and that’s the triple truth Ruth.

“New York power couple David and Pam King at home in Brooklyn.” The art in #highest2lowest, casually referencing “our sister Thelma”, real @kennedyyankostudio adorning our set walls 🤌🏾 I’d like to be Pam King when I grow up.
