Me , captured Enraptured by the tiniest reach Of creative impulse That had grown so far from me As I journeyed thru the fire of motherhood A portal with no easy definition for gains I recorded mid breast feeding long after midnight I crawled into closets and bathrooms to let my tongue pour everything furious from me Sometimes nothing came. And when there was a thunder storm of hell yes It would lift the fatigue Ever so slightly Gifting me a moment Of celebrating my own imprint again This new bloodstains album is really special to me. Been 8 years since I’ve properly finished anything. So close now I can taste it …
Arc/ hives Lost and found In a cardboard box Gathered for whom? My son? Myself at 64? Maybe you gather things to lose them more sacredly

Once upon a time I was a woman with a big ass truck , living on a small island, tending my child and my growing mother’s heart.

To the human who sees me I want ( trumpets) To know ( the sighs) You well I think of my hands (The sighs) And how they make offerings to your body ((TRUMPETS)) Congratulations You’ve unraveled me (( the blush curse of honesty )) Signed with the ache of a hundred seasons finally coming to bloom

Come here softness, Let us wrestle the hardest lessons together
And later When our time is up I’ll kick my tires and squint up into the sun I’ll type my address in And let the satellite Think For a moment , It wins At leading me away from you Later The song you sent Plays And I laugh Satellite be damned Your fingers soft entwined Distance bewildered (( your still mine)) ——
Just a short flight north of Vancouver , in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia, is the small town of Enderby, where the Cardiff Miller Art Warehouse resides. To the west of the train track , almost hidden from sight , contains a creative offering that rivals some of the biggest cities I’ve ever traveled too. It’s part museum / part gallery / part immersive art space owned and operated by two of the greatest contemporary artists of this century , Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller. The warehouse displays some of their work, which is thrilling to see all in one space , when your like me and have just been reading about some of these pieces for years and years . They mainly work in sound , binaural sound immersion, where conversation, soundscape and music create physical narratives that come alive in different spaces of the warehouse. You as the viewer are offered a chance to interact with each piece very personally, sometimes it’s even your body that triggers the sound, your movement thru each piece changes what you hear, changing the story you get to form. Visiting this space , these artists , this part of the world has been an incredibly inspiring and awe inducing experience for me. It’s wildly worthy of a trek north. Thank you for letting me into your world up here @janetcardiff @george_bures_miller Slide 1, The Poetry Machine , 2017 Slide 2, The Murder of Crows , 2008 Slide 3 -5 , The Marionette Maker , 2014 Slide 6 , me experiencing The Forty Part Motet 2001 Slide 7, Storm Room ( in a house in Doichi , Japan) 2009 Slide 8, The Killing Machine 2007 Slide 9 -10 Escape Room 2021 Slide 10, The Murder of Crows 2008 Slide 11-12, sketches Slide 13 , ext of warehouse
On describing the strip mall to my son / As a stone watches it’s self wear Time is also a point of view any sudden moves become wide and easy rivers, Eventually. We Are also watching Our implosion In slow motion The debris Falling Unnoticed Like light shifting Down the mountain Our needs Becoming necessity Rewriting my body built for (our)survival The fish That eats itself Thinking it’s saving itself From a simple turn in the river.
“What will we become” I wake up and dance the question to my kettle Press buttons Lift rituals Make breakfast Step outside Awe struck I try to listen I try to lift the question to my knee Arch my neck to the sun And nod In agreement In atonement In sadness Yes I answer My first answer of the day Yes I am as you are Full of love A broken vessel that can still hold the world together Yes. In my body an answer In the world And how it animates my skin The question still remains … 35 mm collage
