Let’s talk about VAT REFUND IN #EUROPE 🌎 Each year, travellers leave millions of dollars behind in unclaimed refunds, because they are unaware of it. That’s why I wanted to make a video so you can claim VAT refunds easily and save money on shopping in Europe. Here are a few key points to keep in mind. 1. The VAT Refund is usually applicable on purchases made above €100, Dont forget to take the Invoices & #VAT Refund forms from the store itself. (They might need your passport details, so make sure you have it handy)  2. You can either choose to get the VAT refund into your credit card/ Debit card or get the refund in cash from the airport.  I recommend you take the refund on the credit card/ Debit card, this could take around 3-6 weeks to credit, but you get around 12% V/s cash, which is given at the airport, but you only get around 10.8%  3. Once you reach the airport, allow some extra time prior to your departure to Scan the barcodes of the VAT refund forms at the VAT refund booths which located next to Airline Check in counters. 4. If you had chosen to get the refund into your credit card/ Debit card, then you have successfully completed the process and will get the VAT refund in 3-6weeks 5. For cash refunds you would have to go to the VAT refund office, which is located near the gates (once you have completed the check in and security check), the officer will check all the forms and immediately hand over the refund in Euros. (some officers might inspect the invoices and might want to physically verify the goods purchased- so do keep the purchases in your cabin luggage, and not in check in luggage) The process of claiming the VAT was super easy and stress free. Do remember that this process needs to be done at the last port of exit from the EU.
