When I was younger, I was so focused on achieving my goals that I rarely paused to reflect on how I truly felt or what I really needed, not just what I wanted. Every time I stopped, it felt like I was losing time because there was always so much I still had to do to get to what I imagined my destination to be, I almost felt guilty for allowing myself some time off. I’m still learning, but I’ve come to realize the importance of pausing—taking time for myself, being with loved ones, reading a book, just doing nothing sometimes – and focusing more on the journey, not just the destination. Goals are goals, but after all, life’s too short to skip the good chapters.
