In one of our first offices for 𝘔𝘴., we had an occasional visitor: Robert Redford. When he was in town, he used one of our offices to work from. I’m not sure how we enticed him to do this cover, but we did. We didn’t tell anyone until it ultimately leaked. Though Robert was known for his crusading for the environment, he was equally a champion for equality. How lucky am I that @gloriasfoundation and @defies.shelf are continuing that with a new book salon series highlighting great new work. This first gathering celebrated @danaawilliamsink and her new book 𝘛𝘰𝘯𝘪 𝘢𝘵 𝘙𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘮, which reminds me of those early days of Toni writing her heart out in her car, on her way to her job as an editor, where she was always championing other people’s work.
