Gul Panag Instagram – Travel has changed its meaning for us. These days, it isn’t about racing through sightseeing lists or chasing bucket-list destinations. It’s about something far more precious: being truly together.
For Nihal, the highlight of any holiday is always the hotel. And the room!
Ask him about any trip (some to what we think are fantastic destinations) and what he remembers most isn’t the sights — it’s the stay.😅
Because for him, the joy is in all of us being in one space, unhurried, undistracted. Meals together. (Even as his mother insists on chopsticks ) Laughter together. Time together.
And leisure for us now looks like this: me in the pool with Nihal while Rishi sneaks in his gym time. Later, me slipping off to the spa while the two of them hang out together. We’re still together — but also finding those little slices of self-care that make us come back lighter.
But it’s also the quieter, everyday joys that make a staycation so restorative. Ordering in room service and enjoying meals in our pajamas. Helping Nihal finish a weekend assignment without the usual rush.
Catching up on leisure reading I never seem to find time for at home. These small, simple things — that we so easily lose in the hustle and bustle of daily life — suddenly feel luxurious when someone else is taking care of you.
That’s why we love the rhythm of a staycation. At @theleelapalacechennai the spaces, the warmth, and the thoughtful way the hotel is designed allowed us to just be as a family. Looked after like we were at home — but in the lap of extreme comfort. Not rushing, not chasing, simply living. And sometimes, that’s the most luxurious getaway of all. ❤️
