Joely Richardson Instagram – On my way to the ‘Downton Abbey Grand Finale’ the rain was pelting down. It stopped a minute before we arrived. I went with the director Simon Curtis, one of my best and oldest friends ( we met decades ago working in Liverpool fringe theatre). Simon’s wife, the magnificent @elizabeth.mcgov was on Broadway so couldn’t attend. I play a tiny role , horrible woman described as ‘that old hag ‘( but also a bit funny in her preposterousness). Was such a thrill to join the iconic cast and crew, and wonderful to see my brilliant friend at work- humour, inspiration and specificity .
