Sometimes we look at you in disbelief, wondering how the years have passed so quickly. It feels like only yesterday you were tiny in our arms (Mummy and Daddy were (still) so obsessed with that dimple of yours), and now here you are — growing, learning, and blossoming beautifully inside out. True to your name, which in Spanish means to light or to shine, you have been a source of Nūr in our lives. And in Arabic, the ‘khayr’ in your name reminds us of softness and goodness, which you show so beautifully with the way you are such a sweet, doting sister to your brothers Yeop and Lang and everyone around you. We also love how you bring so much laughter into our days , you’re such a hoot Yong! — with your comical, animated, and bubbly ways, you remind us to find joy in the simplest moments.
In the little things — the way you rush to comfort your brothers when they’re upset, how you always want them involved, and the sparkle in your eyes when you help without being asked. These moments remind us of the goodness الله swt has placed in you.
Always remember, my love, that everything you are and everything you have is from الله swt. Stay grateful to Him in times of happiness and in times of challenge, for gratitude will always keep your heart soft and content.
