Dawn McCoy Instagram – On this last day of Child Abuse Prevention month, I have to share this precious video Uncle Cheese sent us from our days in the hospital.
15 days after Baby Waylon
was almost killed
& permanently disabled by a real-life
monster…
Waylon is moved from the PICU where he was admitted 12 days earlier with skull fractures, brain and spine bleeding, innumerable retinal hemorrhages and extensive body fractures…
And showed us he was a true survivor…
By taking 100% of his first
bottle feed after being on a feeding tube for almost 2 weeks (which is extremely rare we are told at the time)…
And raising his fist here
for the first time since he was
viciously assaulted by someone he should have been able to trust.👊🏼
His fist was a sign of his resilience…
and a sign of hope to us.
🙏🏼 🤞🏼
And while he can’t raise his right fist anymore due to paralysis & spasticity
from the abuse he suffered…
Waylon’s resilience lives on…
and is as strong as ever.💪🏼
And as for the monster?
Well, we don’t think of him much.
But we do know one thing…
Long-awaited justice is coming at last this summer.
And no monster with a lack of conscience can kill this
sweet, magical boy. 🩵
But…
The monster can – and DID –
seal his OWN fate when he decided to assault this precious newborn baby boy.
No mercy for monsters.
None.
Nada.
Not one single morsel of mercy.
Let’s give him the life sentence he deserves.
Pray for our jury and judge.
