I haven’t posted anything in a while… sometimes keeping up on social media feels less than helpful. But I wanted to say thank you to everyone for their birthday wishes back in December, and for all lovely people who came out to visit us Smallville cast in New Orleans and Orlando (please know it is never lost on us how special this fan community has become). Here are pictures of snow in Vancouver (when I was a kid, it so rarely snowed so it always triggers that sparkly feeling of a “snow day”), mountains from the air, me in Orlando, and a book exert from “The Light Eaters”(which I highly recommend to anyone interested in plants and planetary interconnectivity).

Tomorrow is the beginning of October, also known as Spooky Season. I know that there are many worshippers of the spooky who started celebrating the minute it turned September. I am not one of those people. However, in a practice run of potential book club, I thought it would be fun to read a horror novel together this month. Soooooooo. For those of you so inclined, I picked Stephen Graham Jones’ newest, “The Buffalo Hunter Hunter.” I haven’t figured out exactly how we will do this, but I’ll read to you live next week. And I will find a way for us to have a discussion or two. (Full disclosure—I am just over halfway done the book, so I don’t know what all my thoughts are yet. I am also working on a show right now and am a smidge busier than usual. So be patient.) Any ideas regarding how you’d like to proceed are welcome! Music in the post by LVCRFT @lvcrftofficial

I think this is a fairly spoiler-free moment from last night’s episode…. It was such a joy to do this scene with the lovely @myalowe New episode of Murder in a Small Town is out on @hulu today and airing on @globaltv tonight in Canada. #murderinasmalltown
I’ll be interviewing the excellent Stephen Graham Jones on November 1st. Join us on Fable (links in bio) to discuss books. 📚 We are just using the rest of 2025 to figure it all out… call it a beta. So, you are all helping us shape this thing. And remember, if you buy your books from the Madwoman’s bookshop.org shop, you are supporting indie bookshops, and, on certain months, a charity. Which this month is (as selected by SGJ) the Firekeeper Alliance which aims to prevent suicide in the youth of the Blackfeet Nation (as well as other Indigenous youth in Montana). @themadwomanslibrary #awin
Penultimate episode of Murder in a Small Town is out now on Hulu (and, if you’re in Canada, the episode airs tonight on Global). Is Roger the killer? You book readers—no spoilers. #murderinasmalltown @thelucasbryant
