Sarah Drew Instagram – On my way to the airport for season 2 of #mistletoemurders and I couldn’t be more excited for the joy of reconnecting with my cast and crew and being on set and all of the things. And also, it is so hard leaving my three favorite people in the world. This week I’ve been feeling a bit melancholy about it. I love love love what I do. I especially love love love this show. AND ALSO I miss my precious fam when I’m gone. We always do our best to stay connected but there’s no snuggling and letting them talk as they are going to bed, or having them reveal the things they only do when I’m driving them and we aren’t making eye contact. There’s no nightly card games or french braiding Hannah’s hair, or brainstorming Micah’s latest movie idea. When I’m away, our convos are more intentional and sometimes I really miss the convos that just happen because we are occupying the same space.
This stuff is hard. People ask me all the time if you can have it all, and I always say- yeah. You can do all the things, but sacrifice is always a part of it. You can’t ever have it ALL, all at the same time and that’s the truth. I hugged my teary eyed kids this morning. Hannah said “I don’t want you to go”. Micah said “I’m gonna miss you so much, but I hope you have the best time and I can’t wait to hear about all the fun you’re having on set”.
