lessons in motion: part two mental peace > people pleasing ✨ this was probably one of the toughest things i had to learn when i was living alone because all of a sudden i had nobody around me to bounce off conversations with, make plans with, and to overcompensate i’d just say yes to everything that came my way not only was it draining to try to be everywhere all at once, but i realized that i was so uncomfortable with just being by myself that i needed constant security of being around others – yay fomo!! but i was tired of feeling this way. so i stopped showing up to things that didn’t bring me joy and invested more time into myself

small things to get me OUT of a SLUMP 🤓 anytime i feel disconnected from myself, it’s usually because things don’t according to plan/i’m not motivated by the same things that used to keep me going/i don’t know what actions to take that align with me anymore these are such simple but effective things that help me get more CLARITY and understand these feelings a little bit better 🫶🏽 physical reset: not talking about going to the gym and lifting the heaviest weight you can – but just being off your phone for 30-40 minutes while you walk outside, pay attention to your surroundings, and let yourself exist mental reset: i love writing down random thoughts in my phone notes app or when i’m feeling more anxious, using pen and paper to let it all out. doing this helps me see my thoughts clearly instead of letting them pile up and get jumbled in my head. it’s released the tension and buildup / kinda like cleaning off dust on that one table you never use lol emotional reset: it’s so easy for me to isolate myself when i feel low and wait until i feel better again to talk to my friends and family but instead try connecting with ppl you feel like you can be yourself around. when in need, phone a friend indeed 😛 energy reset: doomscrolling is my worst enemy 😬 i find myself so drained from just scrolling on my phone for way longer than i want to admit and 1) listening to podcasts and 2) watching youtube videos about things im interested in have been a great alternative let me know if you have other ways of getting out of a slump! curious to hear 🙂
