Beverly Joubert Instagram – As dusk grips the sprawling plains of Kenya’s Maasai Mara, a territorial lion pauses briefly in the pre-night glow before setting off on his nightly patrol. Lions here need wide open spaces to roam, their movements dictated by the availability of prey and the changing seasons. Sadly, even in this iconic landscape, these apex predators are under threat due to habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and poaching. In an effort to reverse their decline, @DereckJoubert and I founded the Big Cats Initiative (BCI) – currently run by @Greatplainsfoundation – which funds on-the-ground research and innovative conservation projects that safeguard big cats and their habitats.
To help raise funds for the initiative, you can purchase this print (as well as five others) from my website with 100% of the proceeds going towards the BCI. By purchasing a print, you’re not just bringing the wild into your home; you’re helping secure a future where big cats continue to roam free.
