Heather Headley Instagram – It’s the most uncomfortable time of the year!!
This one was tough! Emotionally!
The past few weeks have been heavy. A lot has been going on. A lot…good. A lot…resolved and resolving. But we’ve had a few difficult days, including hearing the news of the passing of a dear lady who was very present in my childhood. She gracefully set down her armor and boxing gloves after fighting the very same thing I was walking up to this machine to ensure I didn’t have.
For days before my exam, I was emotional and nervous and anxious. I asked my mom to pray for me and with me because I was so aware that this disease doesn’t have a ‘type!’ It can hit us all.
And because of that, I knew that I had to put on my big girl brassiere, and get it done.
I got smooshed and snatched and smashed. I was actually a little sore after (my radiologist was very THOROUGH 😉)!
And…all is well 🙌🏽!
I tell you about my exams every year because it holds me accountable. But I hope it is also a reminder to you to schedule your appointment as well. Maybe it’s a reminder to call your favorite #lady and make sure she has her #mammogram scheduled.
I hate that disease, but early detection can save your life.
So, remember to take care of yourself by getting those #girls checked! However you choose to…!
And for those of you ‘too young’ to be checked…don’t be shy about being up in someone else’s bra business. Call her and remind her!
She’ll be grateful!
