Let me confess: When I signed on to do @sweetmagnoliasnetflix , I truly thought we’d only do one season. ONE! Maybe two if we were lucky enough. The fact that we are getting prepared to go into Season #FIVE is not lost on me. I’m humbled by it. That’s not ‘luck,’ it is a testimony to this gift from God in the form of our writers, producers, our cast and crew, our Netflix team…and most of all… YOU!! Thanks to you, and your support and love for the show, we get to peek into #Serenity again. We’re all honored, and excited and so ready to see all the juicy secrets that lie ahead. It’s not everyday that you have the opportunity to ‘work’ with a person that you also consider a genuine friend. A Sweet Magnolia at that!! But that is what I have in @jogarciaswisher! She loves being a friend, she’s good at it…and I appreciate that I’m on that favored list. Thanks for standing with me on camera, AND standing on the sidelines to cheer me on. 25 years ago, I stepped onto a stage, the Palace stage to be exact, and I officially became a princess. I knew we had something special, but I wasn’t sure how the world would perceive it. I just knew I had to do my best. Better than my best! I walked onto that stage nervous, even scared, but determined to introduce the world to this amazing woman, and this beautiful story…a woman and a story that would ultimately change my life…and I hope, brought entertainment and joy to yours. Maybe even change as well…. What happened afterward is still beyond me. A gift. A blessing. More than I could imagine or think. 25years later and I’m so grateful to @disneyonbroadway and #tomschumacher for choosing and believing in me to tell her story. To @eltonjohn, who was and still continues to be so supportive of our show and me. @tim_rice_words who worked tirelessly to make sure every word was perfect. #WayneCilento (I adore you, still), #BobFalls (thank you), our crew, the most amazing, gorgeous, and talented cast, and to the two people who completed the triangle: @officialsherierenescott and @adampascal. It’s the most uncomfortable time of the year!! This one was tough! Emotionally! The past few weeks have been heavy. A lot has been going on. A lot…good. A lot…resolved and resolving. But we’ve had a few difficult days, including hearing the news of the passing of a dear lady who was very present in my childhood. She gracefully set down her armor and boxing gloves after fighting the very same thing I was walking up to this machine to ensure I didn’t have. For days before my exam, I was emotional and nervous and anxious. I asked my mom to pray for me and with me because I was so aware that this disease doesn’t have a ‘type!’ It can hit us all. And because of that, I knew that I had to put on my big girl brassiere, and get it done. I got smooshed and snatched and smashed. I was actually a little sore after (my radiologist was very THOROUGH 😉)! And…all is well 🙌🏽! I tell you about my exams every year because it holds me accountable. But I hope it is also a reminder to you to schedule your appointment as well. Maybe it’s a reminder to call your favorite #lady and make sure she has her #mammogram scheduled. I hate that disease, but early detection can save your life. So, remember to take care of yourself by getting those #girls checked! However you choose to…! And for those of you ‘too young’ to be checked…don’t be shy about being up in someone else’s bra business. Call her and remind her! She’ll be grateful! #breastcancerawarenessmonth #getchecked #women #woman #pink
