God blessed me more than I could imagine when I married this man. He blessed our children even more when this sweet man was born and set on a journey to find me, and ultimately become their Daddy! This is a picture of his ‘fathering!’ He allows our kids their independence, to explore, to learn, to enjoy, to make mistakes…to go through storms and waves, and joy and success…while all the time standing strong, ready, and resolute…close enough that they know and see that he’s always right there in case they need him, even if they don’t. This is Jenni Carvell. She was my #dresser when I played Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard in London’s West End a little over a decade (😲) ago! The experience was amazing…but far from easy. I was singing the most iconic songs of my vocal hero, #WhitneyHouston; we had over 20 costume changes (one or two of them 20 seconds long), and once I left my dressing room, I didn’t go back until intermission or the end of show. I caught the flu in London…TWICE, and my vocal cords and emotions took the brunt of that. In addition, I was away from my #husband (he actually did 44 trips across the pond to see our son and me…yep, #ilovehim !), family, my circle, my community…all I knew. But God sent me two women: our dear nanny (Mandy), and Jenni! Jenni kept me dressed, laughing, sane. She passed me water bottles, teas, lozenges, tissues, towels, anything and everything I needed to get through the night. She giggled with me, held me up, dried my tears…and although a zipper broke once causing me to do the entire number without turning around 😄…she never missed a dress change. I’m eternally grateful. We’re in #London this week, and my first order of business was to see her. Hug her. Thank her. No longer just my dresser…but a friend! God places people in your life for a time, at the right time, for a perfect purpose. ‘Grateful to Him…and her!

‘someone’ did what I said and parked it in the MOST appropriate spot!!

My #mother prays for us every day.
EVERY. Without Fail. DAY!!
Sometimes multiple times a day. For as long as I have had memory, I have had an assurance that even IF I didn’t pray for my family and myself, she does and did.
Once a week, she gets together with some of her ‘warriors’ and prays. And those ladies go in, get on their knees, and get prayers answered.
My husband and I got this note from her after she had her weekly meeting with the ladies, and let me tell you this…
There is a sense of great peace and power when she sends me such.
If you see me today, you may want to step back….

These beautiful, amazing, talented, intelligent, loving, kind, hilarious, sassy (for the sake of anonymity I’ll refrain from saying which one SHE is 💖…), remarkable, and extraordinary young people have given me the honor of calling ME their #mom. Every morning they wake up and forgive my shortcomings from the day before, and somehow still love me through it. They take care of my heart: teach it, grow it, tickle it, challenge it…and I hope they feel loved and wanted and appreciated more than they could imagine everyday. School starts again, and I pray peace and protection and success over them…the amazing #teachers who do so much while they’re in their care (thank you ALL!), the #administrators and #staff who watch over it all, and all our other babies (big and small) starting #school. I’ll be okay…🥹! #mommydays #backtoschool

I’m so excited and blessed to have #JavierColon join me (and YOU!) on #Saturday, along with the Heritage Signature Chorale, and the National Symphony Orchestra (under the direction of @stevenreineke ), at the Kennedy Center for my evening of Broadway, My Way. Is it okay to admit that I already have a couple albatrosses, in addition to the regular allotment of butterflies flying around my stomach 🙂?
