The Trump administration defied a judge’s order to provide information on how it intends to bring a wrongly removed Maryland man back to the United States. The administration’s failure to comply with Supreme Court directive threatens a Constitutional crisis – a showdown between the executive and judicial branches.
The order, filed by Judge Paula Xinis, required the Trump administration to provide an explanation for how it plans to bring Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia back to the United States after he was unlawfully deported to El Salvador last month.
US Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller wrote on X that Abrego Garcia should not be returned because he is in the “custody and control of a sovereign foreign nation.”
