Jessica Yellin Instagram – Trump’s tariffs have gone into effect and nations around the world are retaliating. To be clear: Trump put 10% across-the-board tariffs on every nation. Those went into effect Saturday. He announced extremely high additional tariffs on another 60 nations and those went into effect today, though allies and many supporters begged him not to. Some of the targeted nations, including Japan and South Korea, say they want to reach a deal to remove or lower tariffs. Others are announcing retaliatory tariffs until a deal can be reached. Among those countries: EU, China, and Canada. But the biggest confrontation will be with China — Trump slapped 104% tariffs on them and they responded with a reciprocal 84% tariff.
