Mayor Karen Bass’s proposed (!! Edit: thankfully, not passed yet!!) budget cuts from LA Animal Services, threatening to close half of the city’s shelters and lay off 62 dedicated staff members . This isn’t just a budget issue—it’s a life-and-death matter for countless animals.
Without affordable spay/neuter programs, responsible housing policies, and robust shelter support, we’re witnessing more dogs suffering and more lives lost.
Now, with these looming cuts, the situation is becoming dire.
