Last night Indian women bowled over History itself!! What an epic epic win for every Indian, regardless of gender, age, status, caste, religion, faith, colour, we all experienced this unprecedented joy in our bones and felt a sudden timeline shift, like an elevation of time where nothing will ever be the same again !! And what made this more special was watching this with my parents by my side, who have stood by me through all my choices, highs and lows, failures and achievements just as every girl’s parents who’s on that team, who stood by them through their journeys and look today the World Cup is home cos they weren’t made to sit at home 💪🏼 Thankyou moms and dads we love you!! We are because you are ♥️ And as Harmanpreet said “This is not the end, just the beginning and they will now make winning a habit.” Kudos to their spirit for keeping at it with minimum to no rewards right from when women chose this sport to this day.. the prize is not the trophy, it’s the fire they’ve lit in all of us to dream big, to never shrink ourselves and believe that anything is possible #worlddominance @icc @iccwomen @cricketworldcup

‘The Cappadocian Dream’ If you know me you know I’m obsessed with the skies, the sunsets & sunrises, the soft cool breeze that caresses the skin at that hour of dawn & dusk, the different hues of nature, the bright colours, the shadows everything.. So inevitably Cappadocia became that one dream place I really wanted to go to to experience all of this from the hot air balloon itself.. Those postcards always called out to me!! And there I was at 6am, slowly & smoothly lifted to the sky, watching the sun come out from behind those Cappadocian hills, colours all around me, bird’s eye view of a strikingly interesting landscape!! But when I was there, I wasn’t sure if I was quite there, cause what I kept thinking of was “how do I capture this?” .. So am not sure if I did justice to the present moment then, but in these last few days I did try to do justice to the painting of that dream I once lived .. 6 days of putting this together were meditative, peacefully sitting by the window looking at my share of the sky, sipping on some iced coffee, no rush, feeling a sense of calm with those brushes like this is where I had to be, with my art and my heart and that feeling of the dreams that have come true and all the ones that are yet to come to fruition 🌈 P.S: This soundtrack and this film ahhh 🩵
We are at @diff.india this year 🥳🕺🏻 All our super talented, creative friends & colleagues enjoying world cinema at Dharamshala Film Festival, our lil short made with a lot of heart will be screening tomorrow, 2nd Nov at 2pm .. Do catch it if you get a chance, I promise you it’s a special one & you will have something to take back ♥️ Mard Mombatti began for me in the most unexpected way and I was put through a test(audition) that felt more like a mirror. @guneetdogra ‘s process of finding Kitty was playful, raw and quietly revealing — it stirred something in me that usually takes a backseat: that inner child who is curious, full of desire and still slightly innocent. Through Kitty, I met parts of myself that are sharp yet vulnerable, flamboyant yet suppressed, real yet dreamlike. This film reminded me that every woman carries a fire — sometimes hidden, sometimes soft but always alive. Stories like Mard Mombatti remind us why it’s so important to tell these truths — to share them with the world, to let them travel, to see how they touch and transform people in ways we never expect. Grateful to our director Guneet and our casting director @sanjeevmauryaofficial for trusting me with this beautiful madness.

Mard Mombatti was born out of Punjab’s winters — fog on the streets, silences heavier than words, a fragile flame that friends sheltered with their hands. We didn’t think of where it would travel. To now see it begin at the 20th Tasveer Film Festival @tasveerorg , the world’s only Oscar qualifying South Asian festival, and to have Anjay Nagpal (Monkey Man, Joker) join as Executive Producer — it feels like life giving more than we dared to ask for. The road had its stops, but cinema is made in those pauses. Friends became companions, limitations became lessons, and courage was nothing more than refusing to let the flame go out. Everyone has their own journey, but for me the meaning was found in walking together, in the laughter between setbacks, in the silences that became strength. @sumit.saxena.35912 @nishaan7s @rekh_creation @manngera @dhananjay_n @preetis25 @pronitapal @prabhakar.akshara @sanjeevmauryaofficial @_naren @anirban_3.b @nicola.gasparri @amandogrra @mallar_seljan @mr.unprofessional_ @yashodhanp._09 @squackyduckling @shivamshankar_ @dinkersharmaa , @itsharleensethi , Baljinder Kaur, @sukhwinder.chahal1 , @rahaaobali , @manishgulati10 and Sunny Singh. Special Mention – I was a teenager when I first walked into @sikhya , where I learnt, stumbled, grew, and carried stories as a producer for many years. With @guneetmonga , @achinjain20, @shaanvs and @mozezsingh. I found mentors, friends, and family — we fought, we loved, we built films together. And when the time came a few years back, I stepped away to listen to my own voice. After years of chaos and searching, I finally had the courage to direct this small short film. Mard Mombatti is the beginning of that journey. And the road ahead is still waiting to be written.
