Harleen Sethi Instagram – Mard Mombatti was born out of Punjab’s winters — fog on the streets, silences heavier than words, a fragile flame that friends sheltered with their hands. We didn’t think of where it would travel. To now see it begin at the 20th Tasveer Film Festival @tasveerorg , the world’s only Oscar qualifying South Asian festival, and to have Anjay Nagpal (Monkey Man, Joker) join as Executive Producer — it feels like life giving more than we dared to ask for.
The road had its stops, but cinema is made in those pauses. Friends became companions, limitations became lessons, and courage was nothing more than refusing to let the flame go out. Everyone has their own journey, but for me the meaning was found in walking together, in the laughter between setbacks, in the silences that became strength.

Special Mention – I was a teenager when I first walked into @sikhya , where I learnt, stumbled, grew, and carried stories as a producer for many years. With @guneetmonga , @achinjain20, @shaanvs and @mozezsingh. I found mentors, friends, and family — we fought, we loved, we built films together. And when the time came a few years back, I stepped away to listen to my own voice. After years of chaos and searching, I finally had the courage to direct this small short film. Mard Mombatti is the beginning of that journey.
