Jennifer Esposito Instagram – This was quite the shock. You know why- I’d didn’t put myself up for this award. Paying fees to just renter the race. This is the way awards should be given- on merit- not on who paid the most in marketing. You read that right. #indiespirit awards (really?) Gotham both charge lots of money to even nominate your film and cast. Then there are so any other chargers to then get the voters to actually watch the movie. Not sure how you accept money for an awards contest and then don’t give the same attention to ALL films! But I digress- and this is about being celebrated for just the work. Even though the film and ALL my cast, @domenicklombardozzi @iamannabellasciorra @nick_v_cirillo @davidiacono – my editor, costume @caileybreneman PR @tvalexander__ composer @dodowndosia and the rest of the crew – as well as my producers @leslieowen_omg @3fttoss @chriscrokos ALL should have been recognized. Last but NOT least the performances by @odessaazion and my dear @emily_bader who presented the award to me- it is a CRIME these 2 haven’t been noticed this award season! Again- I’ll take the win and say a huge thank to @hollywoodcreativealliance for remembering me but as I said in the speech I share this with YOU alllll! The PEOPLe who have championed me and this film because they ACTUALLY care about human stories- yes STILL!! One win for us!
